Voluntary Action Angus Staff and Volunteers have been completely humbled by the way communities have come together to support each other. As you were all aware, our COVID Response Support was always a short term plan to help support people most in need. Therefore, as of 3rd August, we will no longer be able to provide this level of support to communities due to the lockdown measures being lifted. We want people to know that although our immediate support to the communities by the way of prescription delivery, shopping service etc. is ending, we are not moving out of the community. We will still be available to provide help and advice when needed. If you have any questions, please contact the office on 01307 466113 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
During Covid-19 lockdown, we have seen Angus communities coming together to support one another. Voluntary Action Angus have worked with partners and locally based volunteers to help deal with the impact of Coronavirus COVID-19. We have provided support with shopping, telephone befriending and prescription collections.
As the Scottish Government have suggested that the hope is to pause the need for shielding entirely at the end of July, we will no longer be in a position to continue with the services our volunteers have been providing.
The lifting of the restrictions will enable the group of vulnerable people who have been shielding to leave their homes in order to do shopping and collect prescriptions etc whilst taking extra care to protect themselves.
